Plans to stage big top Oktoberfest in popular park
All areas: Licensing bid for event in Burnham Park
In this week’s public notices, a licence application has been made for an Oktoberfest event.
Licensing
Events company Barbican Events Ltd has submitted a licensing application for an Oktoberfest celebration planned for Burnham Park in the autumn.
An application to Buckinghamshire Council states that the event will take place under a big top tent with fencing around it over the weekend of Friday, September 29 until Sunday, October 1.
The site will be self-sufficient, with toilets, power, running water, security, lights and first aid.
The application covers licensable activities, including live and recorded music and the sale of alcohol, from 4pm-10.30pm on the Friday, 11am-10.30pm on the Saturday and noon8pm on the Sunday.
Off-premise consumption will only be applicable at the end of the event, to attendees who have attended the event and wish to take their drink away with them in disposable plastics.

Road closures
Part of Hockett Lane in Cookham will be closed between the boundaries of a property known as Orchard Leigh to allow for work on a leaking communication pipe.
The closure will be in place between 9.30am and 3.30pm from Monday, April 24 until Friday, April 28.
A road closure will also be in place in Fifield Road next month from its junction with Stewart Close to its junction with the B3024 Forest Green Road.
This is for a new water connection and will be in place from 9.30am on Wednesday, May 10 until 4.30pm on Friday, May 12.
Footpaths
A series of footpath closures are planned in the Farmers Way area to allow for gas mains replacement works.
The closures will be in place in the following areas:
W Footpath from Copthorne Close to Cannon Lane for its entire length
W Footpath from Farmers Way to east side of Pheasants Croft from its junction with Farmers Way to outside No 10 Pheasants Croft
W Footpath from Rye Close to Pheasants Croft for its entire length
W Footpath from Farmers Way to west side of Pheasants Croft for its entire length
The closure order will be in operation from Monday, April 24 until 11.59pm on Sunday, May 28.
