Thursday April 27 Linos Piano Trio Norden Farm

After three years, the Linos Piano trio return to Norden Farm.

The three talented musicians, Prach Boondiskul­chok, Konrad EliasTrost­man and Vladimir Waltham – whose seven languages and five nationalit­ies contribute to their colourful musical voice – play traditiona­l trio repertoire but also have a project called ‘stolen music.’ where they reimagine orchestral masterpiec­es as if they were newly written as piano trio transcript­ions, as they will with Ravel in this concert. Tickets £20 or £15 for members of the music society with under 18s free with a ticketed adult.

Saturday April 29 St John’s Chamber Orchestra Norden Farm

The St John’s Chamber Orchestra are joined by prize-winning young cellist Oliver Simpson to play Mozart’s Overture Cosi fan tutte, Haydn’s Cello Concerto in C and Beethoven’s Symphony No.3 (Eroica).

Oliver Simpson will play Haydn’s irrepressi­bly good humoured concerto, only rediscover­ed in the mid twentieth century. It is now his most widely performed concerto. The 17-year-old British-Cypriot cellist living in the UK. He was selected as an LPO Junior Artist in 2021/2022 and had a wonderful year with the London Philharmon­ic Orchestra. He has performed Shostakovi­ch’s virtuosic 1st Cello Concerto with Windsor and Maidenhead Symphony Orchestra and performed at the Windsor Festival.

Oliver will be joining Maidenhead-based St John’s Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Nigel Wilkinson, former producer for BBC Radio 3. The concert is a celebratio­n of the life of Renee Wilson.
