All areas: Chocolate egg trails, fun runs and a host of Easter activities

Egg-cellent adventures await with the long Easter weekend and the school holidays just around the corner. Madeleine Evans has rounded up some of the events taking place in our area.

Maidenhead b The annual Maidenhead Easter Ten will take place on Good Friday (March 29)

Children’s runs will take place earlier in the day, with reception to year four running the Easter Half Mile then followed by children in years five to eight taking on the Easter Mile.

The 10-mile main event, hosted by Maidenhead Athletic Club, will start at 9.30am.

This year will mark 69 years since the event began.

b Grenfell Park is set to host a free-to-attend event organised by Maidenhead Bridge Rotary Club on Saturday, March 30, which promises an exciting day of activities.

Funfair rides, a bouncy castle, face painting, bunny mask making, singing, dancing, and the all-important egg hunt are on hand to keep families entertaine­d.

b The Great Easter Egg Hunt at Summerleaz­e Park is also back for its third year, hosted by Maidenhead Round Table on Easter Sunday (March 31). With all day refreshmen­ts at The Sports Bar, an Easter egg hunt as well as face painting, this is another family-friendly event to get involved in.

b Off the Tap in Maidenhead is offering children a chance to meet the Easter Bunny at its seasonal kids’ party on Sunday, April 7.

Tickets are £6.50 and include egg painting, games, breakfast and a chocolate egg from the Easter Bunny itself.

On the same day in the afternoon, the venue will also host a free Easter music festival so the adults can party too.

Bisham b An Easter Egg Trail at Bisham Abbey gives children a chance to explore the historic grounds just outside Marlow on Easter Sunday (March 31).

An egg hunt and other activities makes for a fun day out, at £3 per child.

Cookham b The Totally Locally Easter Trail in Cookham takes place between 28 March and 14 April.

Attendees can enjoy a walking trail of village businesses, clues to solve, and a prize draw to enter for the chance to win an Easter hamper.

Suggested donations of £3 will raise money for Cookham Dean and Cookham Rise PTAs.

Taplow b A National Trust Easter trail is set to be held at Cliveden from March 29 to April 14, offering families some fun on the estate’s grounds.

The £3 ticket includes an Easter trail sheet, bunny ears, and a chocolate egg.

Windsor b In Windsor Great Park an Easter event is set to be held in collaborat­ion with Berkshire, Buckingham­shire & Oxfordshir­e Wildlife Trust.

Families are invited to become Easter Eggsplorer­s, to learn about eggs found along a nature trail and crack an eggthemed mystery to win a chocolate one too.

The trail from Windsor Great Park Environmen­tal Centre is available April 2-4, takes roughly one hour to complete and involves activities, games, and takehome crafts. Find out more at: tinyurl.com/ 2dx7nn7m
