Travel Man: 48 Hours in Trieste

Channel 4, Friday 8.30pm

Joe Lycett is joined by Alan Davies to sample an action-packed weekend in Trieste, northern Italy. Trieste is famous for the Bora, the north-easterly wind said to shape the city and its inhabitant­s. Joe and Alan discover this at the Wind Museum, where curator Rino presides over a collection of wind samples donated from all over the world. A few miles north the pair enjoy a food and fizz pairing in the village of Prosecco.

Though Humphrey is only playing a detective, things turn from amateur to profession­al when the actor playing the victim is found dead with a real knife in his back. As the duo tackle the crime, they soon unravel a dark past that reveals hidden connection­s between the actors. Away from the case, Humphrey and Martha embark on the process of becoming foster parents.
