YAYA Toure’s agent has said that he could join United in the summer – despite the midfielder declaring he wants to stay at City.

Dimitri Seluk told Sky Sports that the 33-year-old will definitely leave the Etihad in the summer and has not ruled out a move to City’s rivals.

Asked if he would be open to talking to United Seluk replied: “Why not? Jose Mourinho is a very good coach. Zlatan Ibrahimovic was together with Yaya in Barcelona.

“I understand this is two clubs who are rivals but for me, for example, this is not a problem from Yaya or from me, this problem will be from Manchester City staff.

“I said to Manchester City that we will start negotiations with other clubs about the future of Yaya. After that, if Manchester City want, they can start negotiations. If they don’t want to then we will find another club.” Seluk said that he had waited until March 15 but after they had not heard anything from City they started negotiations with different clubs. He revealed that he has had offers from clubs in Italy and Spain but Toure will definitely not be heading to the MLS or China in the summer. The Ivory Coast international is out of contract with City in the summer and is expected to leave but has told Sky Sports that he is keen to remain with Pep Guardiola at the Etihad. Asked if he would like to stay at City he said: “Definitely, I love this football club. “The day I will be done, I’ll know Yaya Toure myself. I know my body and I’ll say, ‘Yes, I’m done’”.

Toure has turned his season around after starting the campaign sitting on the sidelines following a fall out with Guardiola.

But, after apologising, the midfielder has managed to reinstate himself as a first-team regular – and wants to use the remainder of the season to prove to Guardiola that he was right to bring him back.

He added: “To be honest, the manager was the one who tried to get my best. Last year I was overweight, it was a difficult situation, there were a lot of problems with my family.

“I was talking with him most of the time and people were not seeing that on the screen.

“Those talks will stay between him and me.

“He knows what I can do and what I’m capable of doing.

“Like he said, he’s been honest with me.

“He is the guy that pushed me up, made me come back and that’s why I’m feeling respectful with him, and that’s why I want to show him he was right.”
