I.am a huge fan of the Street says Voice’s Will

HE JOINS CAST TO PULL A PINT IN THE ROVERS

NOW here’s a sight you don’t usually see on Corrie - music superstar Will.i.am propping up the bar at the Rovers Return before kicking back with a beer in a booth usually frequented by the likes of Audrey Roberts or Fiz and Tyrone.

But The Voice coach Will took over the iconic boozer while filming his new music video on the Corrie set.

The American rapper made his mark on the set of the world’s longest soap, filmed at Trafford Wharf, as the unlikely setting for his new song Fiyah, which was inspired by his time on the ITV1 singing contest The Voice.

He was joined by his quarter finalists Jason Jones, Michelle John and Tanya Lacey in the boozer. And after Will had strutted his stuff with dancers in the pub, the foursome enjoyed a well-earned bottle of beer together in the Rovers.

Contestant Tanya said about the visit: “Shooting the video in Coronation Street is so surreal, such a massive contrast.”

Will can be seen sporting a black hat and black and white blazer and trousers as he sits at the bar. And he leads a pack of dancers in an energetic routine. One dancer even gets up on the bar.

Black Eyes Peas star Will.i.am previously visited Weatherfield with The Voice UK coaches during the filming of the Battle Rounds at MediaCityUK, a stone’s throw from the Corrie set.

Will told soap legend Beverley Callard, who plays Rovers coowner Liz, that he would like to film a pop video when he toured the set back in January with show judges Sir Tom Jones, Jennifer Hudson and Gavin Rossdale - and he is staying true to his word.

She said previously: “It was such an honour showing the coaches round the Rovers, my late mum was the biggest Tom Jones fan of all time and my grandchildren are huge fans of Will.

“My mum would have been so thrilled to know he was behind the bar with me and I was a very cool grandma when I took home my photos of me showing Will how to pull a pint.

“Will even said he’d like to film a pop video in our pub.”

The Voice fans got to hear Fiyah for the first time on last Sunday night’s The Voice, when Will took to the stage as wannabes waited to hear who had been voted through to the finals of the show. He was joined by dancers in black and white suits with a ring of fire for the performance of the track.

Behind the scenes footage of the video will be seen on tonight’s The Voice at 8.30pm on ITV.
