Lobster on menu late into the night

-

THE owners of Italian wine cafe Veeno are opening a new latenight seafood restaurant and franciacorta bar in Alderley Edge.

Blue Lobster will take the place of burger bar Tomfoolery at 34 London Road, serving Italian seafood specialities until 11pm every night.

Cooked by head chef Mirko Capomaggi, who runs his own successful chain of seafood restaurants in and around Rome, the menu will feature dishes such as seafood paccheri and tuna fillet along with lobster, oysters and antipasti.

The 80-cover venue will also boast the area’s first bar dedicated to franciacorta, a rich and complex sparkling wine from Lombardy, near Milan, which was the first wine in Italy to be produced in the classic champagne method.

It is being launched by Andrea Zecchino and Nino Caruso, whose Veeno chain now has 11 branches across the UK, including one in Manchester city centre, serving wines sourced from their Caruso & Minini family vineyard in Sicily.

“Blue Lobster is all about traditional Italian ambience and authenticity and so everything from the sparkling wine to the chef has been sourced directly from Italy,” said Andrea.

“This is also why we extended the dining hours to facilitate a more relaxed, Mediterranean dining culture.

“Although Blue Lobster is a new venture, it will capitalise on our extensive management experience, and combined with the experience of our acclaimed head chef and consultants, we are satisfied we can establish Blue Lobster as Alderley Edge’s premium seafood restaurant of choice.”

Blue Lobster opens on April 1. To book a table, visit bluelobster. restaurant.
