Corrie’s Steve proves he really is the daddy

-

THERE’S no denying Steve McDonald has stepped up to the mark after the secret tumbled out that he is the father of baby Oliver on Coronation Street.

Since he confessed that Oli is his son, Steve has made it clear that he wants to be the best dad he can.

And in upcoming scenes it appears that Steve takes his son on a ride out in his Street Cars taxi on the ITV1 soap.

The doting dad could be seen singing to the ultra-cute baby and feeding him Calpol through an oral syringe.

It seems that his son may be feeling a little under the weather. But Steve looked to be in his element as he lovingly nursed his little boy.

Simon Gregson, who plays Rovers Return co-owner and Street Cars boss Steve, was spotted filming these new scenes on location in Eccles. Last month, his character finally revealed that he’s the father of baby Oliver at a party thrown by the Platts to celebrate the arrival of the newborn – much to the horror of his estranged wife Michelle. Gail Rodwell, who believed Oliver was her grandson, had thrown the party to welcome him to the Platt clan – and Steve ended up holding him.

At the time the McDonalds were grieving the loss of their baby, Ruairi, who died after 23 weeks of pregnancy.

Michelle has since been out to seek revenge by cosying up to Leanne’s man, Nick Tilsley, who wanted to bring up Oliver as his own son.
