Terrified salon worked robbed at knifepoint
A HAIR salon worker was robbed at knifepoint.
The 43-year-old woman was working in the shop, on Market Street, Droylsden, when a man walked in and claimed someone was chasing him.
When she asked him to leave, he produced a knife and held it to her neck.
He demanded she opened the safe and then stuffed the cash down his trousers before fleeing from the scene towards Chapel Street.
Greater Manchester Police have launched an appeal for witnesses following the incident, which happened at around 4.45pm on Saturday, March 25.
The man is described as white, aged 43 to 48-years-old and about 5ft 10in. He is of mediumstocky build, with brown hair and was wearing a baseball cap, a dark jacket and combat-style trousers.
DC Claire Robinson of GMP’s Tameside Borough said: “The woman was understandably terrified to be confronted by a man with a knife.”
