Newlyweds’ home burgled THREE times

COUPLE LOSE £50,000 WORTH OF GOODS

THIEVEs ransacked a newlywed couple’s dream home THREE times stealing items worth £50,000 – and even taking their bed sheets.

Burglars swiped designer watches, iPads, computers, televisions and alcohol in three separate attacks on their Radcliffe home.

Nicola and Juan Crous had only been married three months when thieves smashed through the couple’s patio windows, taking a number of items in October last year.

Then in March, thieves struck twice in the space of just two weeks – on March 7 and then again on March 25.

Nicola, 29, who is an accounts and payroll manager, said: “They took everything, I mean absolutely everything. It was ransacked. Anything that was electrical, or of any value, they took it. They took televisions, computers, an iPad, mine and Juan’s watches, even a personalised wallet I bought him for a wedding present. They even took our bed sheets.

“We just couldn’t believe it. The only thing they didn’t take was a large television because they had broken it getting it off the wall.”

Their CCTV captured images of people in their house.

The couple contacted police and believe three men were involved in the first March burglary.

Three weeks later they had hundreds of pounds worth of alcohol stolen – which was also caught on camera by their CCTV system.

Nicola said she was at work when she was alerted by the security system that someone was in their home.

she added: “It was horrendous. I work at the same company as Juan and he was getting the alerts too so he rushed straight to the house but got there after they had gone.”

she said they were insured but they were struggling to come to terms with knowing someone had been in their home and then having to keep sorting it all out.

Reinforced glass has now been placed in the house which makes it practically impossible to break in.

Nicola added: “We now have had to get even more security and now are directly hooked up to a police station. I just want people to be aware this is happening and keep an eye out for your neighbours – looking for anything unusual. We are considering moving house because of this now.

“But at the same time I don’t want to let them win because it’s our dream home.”

Greater Manchester Police are investigating the burglaries.
