OLDHAM ATHLETIC guaranteed their League One safety after a 1-1 draw with local rivals ROCHDALE.

It was play-off hopefuls Rochdale who took the lead with just 13 minutes on the clock when Callum Camps got on the end of Nathaniel MendezLaing’s cross and scored.

The visitors remained the better side but they couldn’t add to their lead, and Latics got back on level terms just after the hour mark when Jamie Stott’s ball into the box was headed home by Peter Clarke.

Oldham stay 17th after the draw, while Rochdale are two points from the play-offs with just one game left.

BOLTON WANDERERS will have to wait until the final game of the season to see if they earn promotion to the Championship despite a 2-0 win at Port Vale.

The Trotters thought they may be up after second-half goals from David Wheater and Gary Madine earned them all three points.

A last-minute winner from Fleetwood in their game against Gillingham means the battle for second place continues until next week, with Bolton two points clear heading into their last match.

BURY took a huge step towards ensuring their safety after a 3-0 win at home to Northampton Town.

Two goals from James Vaughan and a strike from George Miller earned the Shakers the win.

WIGAN ATHLETIC’S relegation from the Championship was confirmed after a 0-0 draw against Cardiff City.
