Ex-champ Fury sets July comeback date

-

TYSON Fury claims he will return to boxing in July on the undercard of Billy Joe Saunders’ world title fight.

The controversial Manchester boxer has been absent from the ring dealing with mental health problems since beating Wladimir Klitschko in November 2015 to unify the world heavyweight titles.

He vacated his belts and had his boxing license revoked by the British Boxing Board of Control, and had to abandon plans to return in May as his supension remained in place.

Saunders will fight Georgia’s Avtandil Khurtsidze in London on July 8 for the WBO world middleweight title and Fury claims he will also be involved in the show.

During a rambling Instagram video posted on a trip to Marbella, he said: “I can confirm that I will be accompanying the one and only Billy Joe Saunders when he fights ‘Danny DeVito’ (Khurtsidze).

“Coming back to take on all bums. Bum of the Month campaign, so many bums out there that need cleaning up and wiping out.

“Gonna wipe all them bums. Boom!”

Fury would require clearance from the BBBofC to make his comeback.

Klitschko, meanwhile, returns to the ring for the first time since his defeat to Fury when he takes on IBF champion Anthony Joshua in front of 90,000 at Wembley Stadium on Saturday night.
