Players on the move

ROCHDALE and OLDHAM ATHLETIC have both announced their retained and released lists following the end of the 2016-17 season.

Leaving Dale are Johny Diba and David Owusu, while Jack Redshaw, Joel Taylor and Ben Wilson have returned to their parent clubs following loan spells at the Crown Oil Arena.

Conrad Logan, Matty Lund, Donal McDermott, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, Reuben NobleLazar­us and Joe Rafferty are all currently out of contract, but have been offered new deals. Youngster Matty Gillam has also been offered his first profession­al contract.

All of the other remaining first-team squad players that are at Rochdale remain under contract.

Rochdale finished in ninth place in the League One table this season, missing out on the play-offs by just four points.

As for Oldham, Josh Law, Jamie Reckord, Lee Croft, Michael Ngoo, Lee Knight and Charles Dunne have all been released following the conclusion of their league campaign.

Also leaving are loan signings Connor Ripley, Lee Erwin, Aiden O’Neill, Chris Taylor and Rob Hunt, who are all returning to their parent clubs.

Latics have offered new contracts to Brian Wilson, Chris Kettings, Paul Green, Tope Obadeyi and George Edmundson, while they have extended the deals of Ryan McLaughlin, Jamie Stott, Darius Osei and Kallum Mantack.
