JOIN THE DOTS FOR NEW MUSIC

MUSIC festival Dot To Dot returns to Manchester for its city-wide celebration of new music. The event, which runs in three cities starting in Manchester, sees dozens of bands play at multiple venues across the city centre with a view to highlight blossoming musical talent.

In light of recent events in Manchester, Dot To Dot has made a special announcement regarding safety at the upcoming Manchester event.

In an official statement, festival organisers wrote: “Dot To Dot Festival has been in touch with Counter Terrorism Security Adviser at GMP Counter Terrorism Branch and discussed the Dot To Dot Festival in Manchester this weekend. In solidarity with the resilience of the amazing people of Manchester and the power of live music, Dot To Dot Manchester will be going ahead.”

“Dot To Dot is a festival about bringing people together and enjoying a day out watching live music and having fun.

“We have taken stock and thought deeply about whether it’s appropriate for us to go ahead in the light of what’s happened – and we have decided we will hold the event. We can’t forget what’s happened, but we don’t want to let fear and hate stop us.”

Since starting in Nottingham in 2005, the festival has famously showcased then emerging acts Ed Sheeran, The xx, The 1975, PINS, Mumford & Sons, Wolf Alice, Courtney Barnett, Menace Beach, SBTKRT, and Florence + The Machine.

The festival takes in a gargantuan 26 venues across Manchester - including Gullivers, Soup Kitchen, Fopp, The Albert Hall, Cooper Hall, Jimmy’s and a load more.

This year, Manchester will be the first to hear sets from rising rock stars Sundara Karma, Dot To Dot favourites Amber Run, and Julian Casablancasendorsed Canadians The Growlers. For a full list of performers, check out the Dot To Dot website, dottodot festival.co.uk.
