TOGETHERNESS

MANCHESTER’S MUSIC FANS GATHER:

-

THIS week has been one of the most difficult to comprehend in the city’s history. The attack on Manchester Arena claimed innocent lives and sent shockwaves across the globe. Manchester joined a tragic list of cities where the normal way of life was punctured in the most horrific of ways.

Everyone at CityLife - and the Manchester Evening News - stands with the families of the victims and every other person in this city in support. Our normal function - helping you plan your social life, building you up to the weekend, shining a light on all the fantastic events, places to go and things to do in Manchester - needed to change too. But we never stopped being proud of our city. We never will. It only made us love it even more.

Manchester is built on solidarity, togetherness, innovation. And we will revcover. Lest we ever forget, we do things differently here.

For some of us, that recovery starts by being together. Crowds of people have gathered in the city all week, to pay tribute and show their repsct for the victims. This weekend sees a number of big events where people will do just that. The Courteeners gig at Emirates Old Trafford takes on special significance. Manchester bands, Manchester people, all gathering together. Same goes for the Great Manchester Run a day later.

There are other places to go and things to do. We try, as a city, to move on. Never forget, but never allowing a tragedy like this do define us, or what we’re prepared to do.

Manchester, we’re with you. Every step of the way. THE CITYLIFE TEAM
