Helpline offers support for families

POLICE chiefs and charity workers are calling on those affected by the Manchester Arena terror attack to call a support helpline.

Victim Support are offering a free service to victims and witnesses affected by the attack, which killed 22 people on Monday, May 22.

The helpline is available to those who lost loved ones, witnesses to the attack and those with injured relatives.

Support teams are on hand to give practical and emotional support to those in need.

Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime, Beverley Hughes, said: “This attack has affected so many – not just people here in Greater Manchester, but across the UK and beyond. Those who have lost loved ones or whose relatives are seriously ill in hospital will be receiving specialist victim care, but if you were also there on the night or you witnessed the horror that unfolded, practical help and emotional support is also available to you – whether you need it now or months down the line.”
