It’s time to choose in food and drink awards
THE Manchester Food and Drink Festival today reveals the shortlists for its prestigious annual awards.
The scheme celebrates the innovative and high quality restaurants, bars and individuals who contribute to the hospitality industry in the area.
This year, on the 20th anniversary of the festival, awards will be presented in 20 different categories. There are three new awards – Best Brewery, Best Vegetarian Offering and Best Sustainable Food and Drink Business – all added to reflect the growth in these areas.
Shortlisted venues have been officially nominated by an MFDF judging panel of leading food and drink critics and experts. The winners will be decided by a combination of the public vote and scores obtained by mystery shop visits from the judging panel. Results will be announced at a ceremony at The Principal Manchester on Monday, October 9.
Here are the shortlists for some of the Manchester Food and Drink Festival Awards categories.
For the full list and to vote, see the festival website: foodanddrinkfestival. com/awards. Recognising the ‘best of the best’ in Greater Manchester in 2017, this category can feature restaurants of any style or price.
