Captain Kirk’s making a Trek to sci-fi festival
STAR Trek legend William Shatner, Knight Rider icon David Hasselhoff and He-Man hunk Dolph Lundgren are heading to Trafford for a sci-fi convention. Shatner, who played starship captain James T Kirk in the original Star Trek, Hasselhoff, who was Michael Knight in the classic 80s show Knight Rider, and Lundgren, who played heroic warrior HeMan in the 1987 film Masters of the Universe, are among the line-up confirmed for For the Love of Sci-fi 2017 which returns to Bowlers Exhibition Centre in Trafford Park.
Also on the line-up are Star Wars favourites Dave Prowse who played Darth Vader, Jeremy Bulloch, who played bounty hunter Boba Fett, and Billy Dee Williams, who played Lando Calrissian.
Ernie Hudson, who played Winston Zeddemore in the 80s classic Ghostbusters, will also appear at the convention, described as the ‘most ambitious line-up yet’ by event founder Andrew Kleek. He said: “After the resounding success of our 2016 show we’re proud to return for our third event which will be our flagship show, this will be the best For the Love of Sci-fi yet.

Fans can expect to see more held in the first weekend of December guest announcements for For the and is known for centrepieces including a life size X-Wing fighter, Scout Walker and Cantina Bar from Star Wars, Power Loader from Alien and interactive Optimus Prime from Transformers.
This year at the event, celebrating all things sci-fi, organisers are introducing the Colonial Viper Mark II spacecraft from Battlestar Galactica in memory of Richard Hatch, who played Captain Apollo in the original 70s TV series, Darth Vader’s TIE Advanced starfighter, and the Batwing from Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman movie.
And for Judge Dredd enthusiasts, there will be a massive collection of props and costumes including the Lawmaster bike driven by Karl Urban in the 2012 movie.
Fans will have the opportunity to have their photo taken with the movie stars at the exhibition on Saturday, December 2, and Sunday, December 3.
