UNITED target Alvaro Morata ‘has everything’ to shine at Old Trafford.

That is the view of former Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka.

He worked with Real Madrid’s Spanish striker – who the Reds want to replace the released Zlatan Ibrahimovic – when he was Jose Mourinho’s assistant at the Bernabeu.

Morata’s agent held fresh talks with the Spanish giants on Wednesday as United aim to make a breakthrough in their pursuit of the striker.

But Karanka has no doubt he would be a success if reunited with Mourinho at United.

He said: “Alvaro fits anywhere. We knew his talent since he was with us at the age of 19. Alvaro is the classic player that can fit anywhere. He has everything. The year he spent at Juventus was good for him to mature. He is a spectacular player.”

United want to tie up their move for 24-year-old Morata (right) after securing their first summer signing in Victor Lindelof. But Real’s valuation remains the biggest hurdle, with reports in Spain claiming the Champions League winners are holding out for £79m.

United’s executive vice chairman Ed Woodward is trying to negotiate a fee closer to £60m – but the deal hinges on Real’s resolve to hold out for their full asking price.
