Roughyeds boss wants to bring in experience

- RUGBY LEAGUE By TOM BRAMWELL

OLDHAM welcome Halifax to Bower Fold tomorrow without Tuoyo Egodo, who has returned to Castleford after a loan spell with Roughyeds, who are now looking for a more experienced replacement.

“Tuoyo is a great kid and he gave us his all,” said coach Scott Naylor.

“But we’re heading for crucial end-of-season games and then the shield play-offs and experience will be important.”

The visit of Fax is the first of three games in eight days, so the fact that only longterm injury concerns Craig Briscoe and Phil Joy are missing is a boost to Naylor, who is quietly confident of securing a positive result.

“We’ve shown already that we can beat sides who are perceived to be better and bigger than us, or at least run them very close. Sunday will be no different.”

ROCHDALE upset the odds to beat Bradford at Odsal earlier in the season and are looking to record a similar result in the rematch at the Crown Oil Arena, with the Bulls losing their last seven games. Jono Smith, Ryan Maneely, Jo Taira, Gary Middlehurst and Lee Mitchell are all expected to return after missing last week’s trip to Toulouse, while Anthony Walker is in line to make a second debut for the club after arriving from Wakefield this week.

SWINTON’S trip to Featherstone has been delayed until Wednesday because of Rovers’ Challenge Cup quarter-final last night.
