ARIANA Grande has been made patron of the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund, set up in the wake of the Arena terror attack.

The pop star has been recognised for organising the hugely successful One Love Manchester benefit concert, which raised more than £3m for those affected by the blast that happened after her concert on May 22.

The 23-year-old also received warm praise for visiting injured children in hospital, as well as the relatives of those who died.

Ariana is already set to become an honorary citizen of Manchester in recognition of her acts of generosity towards the city.

The We Love Manchester Emergency Fund supports those bereaved or injured in the attack following the US star’s gig.

The fund was founded by Manchester council, British Red Cross and the M.E.N., and so far £11.7m has been raised through generous community donations.

The trustees have asked the global star to become a figurehead for the charity, as they release a further £3m to those affected by the attack.

Chair of the board of trustees for the fund Counc Sue Murphy, said: “Ariana Grande exemplified Mancunian spirit at a time when she was struggling with the aftermath of the attack herself.”
