A YOUNG mum has hit back at a troll who abused her online for posting pictures of herself breastfeeding her daughter.

Aimee Wood, 20, who regularly posts photos of herself feeding seven-month-old Nova on her Facebook and Instagram pages, was told by a stranger to put her ‘f ****** t*** away.’

Aimee, who says she is trying to help ‘normalise’ breastfeeding with her photos, is planning become a ‘peer supporter,’ training other mums how to feed their children.

Her photos have not gone down well with some people on social media.

Aimee didn’t hold back in her response to one Facebook user.

She replied with a photo of herself making a hand gesture while feeding Nova.

Aimee, who grew up in Stockport and now lives in Hyde, wrote: “I’d just like to point out to each and every person that my posts seem to bother, that there is a block button for a reason.

“I will post 500 breastfeeding pictures a day if that’s what I wish to do.

“This is my profile, my daughter and MY memories.

“I can share what I want and when I want, and if you don’t want to be a part of that then so be it, you will not be missed.”

On Instagram, Aimee also responded to a commentator who suggested the photos should be saved in an album instead of online and asked her if she was posting them for attention.

She suggested it was hypocritical of the male poster to criticise her, despite having many shirtless photos of himself on his own page.

Aimee replied: “Not that I need to explain, but it’s for the memories.

“And also because my daughter has severe reflux, she constantly feeds.

“She never goes more than half an hour without feeding unless she’s asleep.

“I’d have very few photos of her if I didn’t capture breastfeeding pictures. I’m proud of our breastfeeding journey and of my daughter. I post them for me.

“I have a separate Instagram account with only mums following me, where I post most of my breastfeeding pictures.” Aimee has been inundated with messages of support from people who agree with her stance. Speaking to the M.E.N., Aimee, who is engaged to Nova’s dad, Jayk Carr, said: “There are a few breastfeeding support groups on Facebook and they are amazing. “Ninety per cent of people are on my side and agree it’s something that needs to be normalised. “Then there’s the other few that take offence, or say the pictures are disrespectful. “I think some people were bothered by the amount of photos, but it’s just a baby eating. “It’s not something I feel you should have to hide. She feeds every half an hour so I’d have no photos of her otherwise.” Aimee Wood
