Hospital is smiles ahead

-

IN 2015, I got cancer. I phoned my doctors, Heaton Mersey Medical Centre, and on attending my appointment, my doctor said: “Well Robert, I would like you to go for an x-ray (same day).”

A few days later, an appointment was made at Stepping Hill Bobby Moore Centre. Walking down the main corridor, we were greeted by a volunteer lady. “We’re looking for the Bobby Moore Centre, please,” I said. With a big smile, she said: “To the top and left sir.”

My wife and I were greeted by another lady – big smile: “Name and date of birth please – ah, Mr Wilson, please take a seat.”

We sat for approximately 30 minutes and then were called in by yet another big smile, the lady cancer special nurse who explained, in the next 90 minutes, the operation.

Then, the main man himself came in – another big smile!

I would just like to say to my wife, Gail, all the staff at Stepping Hill Hospital and the district nurse team, a very well done!

What helped me through this time were the smiles of one and all.

Yes, we do have to wait (people are late or do not attend their appointments) but I am here today only because of Stepping Hill Hospital to which I say, well done!

If we could get the smile in a bottle, we should all take it every day! R (Bob) Wilson, Stockport
