FOOTBALL legend Dwight Yorke has put his stunning Cheshire mansion on the market – but it comes with a hefty price tag.

The home of millionaire footballers and TV stars, Alderley Edge is awash with amazing homes.

And this six-bedroom property on sale for an eye-watering £2.25m is among the very best on the market.

The former United striker now works as an ambassador for the club and is regularly seen on TV as a pundit. But it seems that he may have had enough of Cheshire life.

The main entrance opens up into a square hall way, leading off into the property’s ground floor, which boasts five spacious reception rooms. There is also a modern, open plan kitchen, with marble flooring, while the dining area sits snugly in a light, bay window, looking out onto the back garden.

If that’s not quite enough room, there is another private dining room – complete with Yorke’s portrait on the wall – and conservatory.

According to estate agents Stuart Rushton & Co, the ‘grand’ property, is ‘designed for family living and entertaining.’

And coming with an amazing games room and bar, to the lower ground floor – complete with a Maradona shirt on the wall - it would be hard to argue.

The upstairs is no less impressive though, with six double bedrooms all en-suite.

The pick of the bunch however, has to be the master bedroom, which just screams footballer’s house.

Comprising a king size bed, two dressing rooms and a huge leopard print sofa, it is certainly eye-catching. But then again, even as a footballer, Yorke was never the conservative type.

Part of the famous 1999 treble winning side, he played 96 times for United, scoring 52 goals – most of them coming in his famous partnership with Andrew Cole.

He was also capped by his country, Trinidad and Tobago an impressive 74 times and played for several other premier league clubs including Blackburn Rovers and Sunderland.

Yorke, 45, still plays in charity matches and as part of the United ‘legends.’

This amazing home also comes with a spacious garden, to the rear, as well as a triple garage.

The property is on the market with estate agents Stuart Rushton & Co.
