Terrifying haul of weapons seized during drugs raid
MEDIEVAL-STYLE spiked balls on chains, knuckle dusters, imitation guns and knives were among a huge hoard of weapons seized by police during a drugs raid.
This shocking image shows the stash uncovered by officers executing a warrant at a house on Maple Crescent, in the Westleigh area of Wigan, on Monday evening.
A large metal spike, a claw hammer and a baton were also found during the search – as well as bags of drugs.
Three men, two aged 49 and one aged 21, were arrested before being charged with the possession of controlled drugs.
GMP Leigh, Atherton and Hindley posted a photo of the haul on its Facebook page.
It also included an array of hunting daggers, air rifles, flick knives and a meat cleaver.
Images of officers storming the property were also published – as well as imagines of bags of drugs.
The post read: “Officers of C relief yesterday executed a warrant under the misuse of drugs act at an address on Maple Crescent suspected to be linked to the supply of controlled drugs in the Westleigh area.
“A quantity of drugs were recovered, as was a large hoard of weapons found stashed around the house.
“Three suspects were arrested, and subsequently charged for possession of controlled drugs.”
Officers said the weapons have since been surrendered for destruction.
