Heroic bomb victim Kelly will be laid to rest tomorrow

THE funeral of a hero aunt who died shielding her family during the Manchester Arena attack will take place on Friday.

Kelly Brewster, 32, died as she tried to protecting her sister Claire Booth and Claire’s daughter Hollie, 11, after the bomb was detonated in the foyer of the indoor arena, according to her family.

Family and friends will pay tribute to Kelly at what is set to be an emotional funeral ceremony at City Road Cemetery, in Sheffield, on Friday, July 21, from 3.15pm.

Anyone who wishes to attend the ceremony are being advised to arrive at 2.30pm.

Speakers will broadcast the funeral from outside the crematoriu­m, with the service featuring Kelly’s favourite songs as well as tributes from mourners.

It is the penultimat­e funeral to take place out of the 22 people killed in the atrocity, with the funeral of Saffie Rose-Roussos taking place on July 26.

Kelly’s sister Claire and niece were injured after the attack and taken to hospital.

Claire suffered a broken jaw, while Hollie was left with two broken legs.

According to reports, Kelly, who worked for Irwin Mitchell Solicitors and insurance company Aviva, and her partner Ian Winslow recently put a deposit down on a new home. The couple were also planning to start a family.
