Primary pupils create a right song and dance in film tribute

-

TALENTED youngsters at a primary school celebrated their last day with an all-singing, all-dancing musical number inspired by the hit film La La Land.

Children from Davyhulme Primary School, in Trafford, put their own unique spin on the song Another Day of Sun from the Oscar-winning movie.

And though the setting of a sunny LA freeway has been swapped for a rainy Trafford playground, not much else has been changed.

The Year 6 pupils have been heaped with praise – and even sent a message from La La Land choreographer Mandy Moore.

The Hollywood star said she was impressed by the children’s efforts, tweeting: “This is amazing! Lots of hard work went into this! I have a huge smile on my face. Well done everyone!”

Children created their own version of the opening number, set on the gridlocked LA freeway during a bright, sunny day.

Teacher Lee Parkinson said the children took just one day to create their version. He said: “When Mandy sent us that message the children were just made up to get that kind of feedback from one of the best choreographer’s in the world.”
