Kind-hearted Peter makes all the right moves

-

PETER Kay is bringing his Dance For Life dance-athon to Manchester for the first time. The Bolton comedian is hosting three dance events at Manchester Central next year over the Easter weekend to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

Phoenix Nights and Car Share star Peter is bringing Dance For Life to Manchester following the enormous success of the event, which sees venues transformed to accommodate enormous dance floors and state of the art sound and lights, with DJ PK at the turntables.

Fancy dress is optional, as well as Peter’s famous ‘walking to the dance floor’ dance.

After Dance For Life 2016 and 2017 Peter has announced new arena dates for next year, with all profits going to Cancer Research UK.

Manchester Central will host dance-a-thons on Good Friday – March 30, Saturday, March 31, and Easter Sunday – April 1.

The three-hour dance-a-thons will also take place over two nights in Coventry and also in Liverpool at the new venue Space by Echo Arena.

And the event promises to be “a joyous and unforgettable fundraising experience.”

Peter said: “I’ve honestly never had so much fun as I had working on Dance For Life. The atmosphere was so happy and positive; it really is a great way to raise money for the worthiest of causes. All people have to do is turn up and dance.

“I’d also like to encourage people to get themselves sponsored via JustGiving.com where a special Dance For Life team page has been set up.”

Event organisers SJM Concerts said: “We are so excited to be involved again with Peter’s Dance For Life shows, the previous nights were such an achievement and so unique, we can’t wait to bring the party to new venues.”

And Claire Rowney, director of Stand Up To Cancer at Cancer Research UK said: “We are so grateful to Peter for hosting his epic Dance For Life events to raise money,”

Tickets are £28.50 each and can be bought individually or in groups of any number.

Participants can set up Dance For Life pages to be sponsored for their individual dance-a-thon challenges. Or to join Peter’s team fundraising page visit justgiving. com/teams/danceforlife2018

The Coventry events are at the Ericsson Indoor Arena on Friday, January 26, and Saturday, January 27. The dates in Liverpool are on Friday, March 2 and Saturday, March 3.

Tickets went on sale this morning from seetickets.com and ticketmaster.co.uk.

Tickets are limited to over 18s.
