BABY of the Year is back and this time we want YOU to be the photographer!

All babies are gorgeous – and this year we’re calling all mums and dads to celebrate their little beauties by taking part in the Manchester Evening News Baby of the Year 2017 competition.

There are no photo events to attend this year. Instead we are asking you take your own photos of your bonny baby or cute toddler.

So don’t wait around – dust off the camera or put that smartphone to use.

Raquel Monroy, brand manager of the M.E.N., said: “Baby of the Year is such a lovely promotion for our readers. It gives them the opportunity to be proud of their little ones.

“The best part is that all entrants will appear in a special Baby of the Year supplement, which is a lovely keepsake for parents and grandparents.

“There’s also a £500 prize for the winner and £50 for the runners-up”.

Last year’s winner was 10-month old Brody John Kavanagh from Salford.

There are four categories: 0-9 months, 10-18 months, 19-36 months, and 3-5 years.

To enter just fill in your details and upload your picture at www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/2017BOTY. Complete the online form with the name of your child, as well as your name and contact details.

Remember – you can only submit one picture per child.

You can submit entries for as many children as you like, though you must have parental responsibility for each child.

In the event of duplicate entries for the same child, we will use the first picture submission into the competition.

Images should be in jpeg or png format, at least 200 pixels per inch and ideally in a portrait format with the child facing the camera, clearly visible and in focus.

Entries are open from now until 11.59pm on Sunday, August 20.

Readers will then be able to vote using coupons in the paper once the supplement has been published, or via SMS. The top 10 children in each category with the most votes will appear in our Top 40 supplement.

Readers will then vote for their winner from the Top 40 and decide who will be this year’s Baby of the Year.

The winner will be announced within 28 days of the voting closing date and further details will be published in the M.E.N.
