ANDREAS Pereira is hoping to prove to Jose Mourinho he’s got an integral part to play at United this season and he’s happy to fit in wherever he’s needed.

The 21-year-old impressed on loan at Spanish side Granada last season and has been showing Mourinho on tour that he deserves a chance and shouldn’t be sent out on loan again.

During his time in La Liga he spent the majority of the time on the left wing, clocking up five goals and three assists.

During pre-season, Mourinho has played the Brazil youth international in a central midfield role and Pereira has told ESPN he is happy to play wherever the United boss feels necessary.

“I’ve come back and I feel calm, I feel stronger mentally and physically. I can play as a midfielder, as a winger, as a holding midfielder. I’ll play wherever the manager plays me but my best position is as a (central) No. 6, 8 or 10,” he explained.

While the number 10 shirt is currently vacant, Pereira understands he will face fierce competition from Ander Herrera, Juan Mata and Paul Pogba in his preferred role.

“The manager just tells me to play my football and continue doing what I’m doing,” Pereira said. “I will do whatever he tells me to do.”

After some good performances in pre-season, Pereira is keen to show the fans and Mourinho what he can do.

“I’ve had a good pre-season, I’ve showed that I’ve learned during my time away on loan and I also have more to show.

“I just want to make sure that I can show everyone at the training ground and inside the stadium what I can do,” he added. “I want to continue my development and find a way into the team.”
