A FAMILY has launched a fundraising appeal to pay for life-saving surgery to save a cat left with horrific injuries after a dog attack.

Tiddles, a silver grey tabby cat, is suffering from horrific injuries after she was attacked by two dogs in Bramhall, Stockport.

The cat was sitting at the end of the family driveway when the ‘medium-sized’ dogs ripped into her fur. She was left with bite marks across her body, a tooth sticking out of her gum and a severe infection from the dog’s saliva. Owner Trine Charlton, 43, rushed Tiddles to a vets and she has been receiving treatment since.

The two-year-old pet has had her wounds stitched up as well as part of her stomach lining removed due to the spread of the infection.

She still requires further treatment to her wounds.

Trine and her family rescued Tiddles a year ago after she was found heavily pregnant living under a car. She sadly lost the litter and was diagnosed with FIV, the feline version of HIV, which makes it impossible for Trine to get insurance. The operation costs are racking up to £1,110 without insurance and Trine has launched a desperate appeal for help to fund the surgery to save the family cat. Trine said the owner of the two dogs has come forward and offered to pay the initial veterinary Owner Trine Charlton on her cat Tiddles fees, but cannot continue to pay for treatment.

The mum-of-two and business owner told the M.E.N: “She is too scared to go outside, so she mainly sits on the front doorstep or in the back garden.

“I got a call from my daughter crying to say Tiddles had been attacked.

“I looked out of the window and could just see a lot of fur and blood.

“Two medium dogs had attacked her on the front garden.

“The cat was covered in blood, Tiddles was lying on the floor completely not okay.”

Trine added: “I want to warn dog owners not take their dogs off the leads, ten seconds is all it takes. I have two dogs and I never take them off the lead.”

The incident has not been reported to Greater Manchester Police.
