JAKE Quickenden has been praised by fans by sharing his decision to have a hair transplant. The hunky former X Factor and I’m A Celebrity star has kept followers updated on social media, posting selfies showing his bloodied hairline which he joked left him looking like ‘Frankenstein.’

Jake, 28, who appeared on the X Factor on 2012 and 2014 before winning hearts on I’m A Celebrity ...Get Me Out of Here! says he decided to have a transplant after years of insecurities about his hairline and he is ‘buzzing’ about after finally having the procedure.

Jake, who lives in Wilmslow with his girlfriend Danielle Fogarty, has assured fans that the ‘swelling and redness’ will go down.

He said on Instagram: “So just in case anyone sees me and thinks it’s Frankenstein, I’ve sorted my hairline out after years of insecurities.

“People might say your hair was fine and didn’t need it, but after years of being really worried about losing my hair, I took the dive and did something about it

“I am delighted with how it has turned out! Swelling and redness will go down after a week and then just get on with day to day life and wait for the results!!

“My old man was bald and it suited him, I shaved my head and I looked like a peanut M&M, so unfortunately, I don’t suit a skin head .... anyone got any questions just drop me an inbox...”

He added: “I will take any stick anyone wants to give me as well, because honestly I’m buzzing and couldn’t care less about negative comments!! Peace.” He has recently shared more updates to inform supporters that he’s “healing up nicely” and to thank them for their positive messages.

Fans have rallied around the singer, who was a runner-up on I’m A Celebrity to his girlfriend’s Superbike racer father Carl Fogarty, and complimented him on his new look.

He said: “Thanks for all positive messages... end of day I just sorted my barnet out I didn’t save the world.. but it’s ok to have insecurities.”

One follower said: “@JakeQuickenden thank u for sharing your journey. Beneath the surface everyone has insecurities, it means a lot to witness your experience.”

Another tweeted: “HUGE respect to u some people don’t like talking about what makes them insecure & as long as you’re happy that’s what matters.”

And another praised: “Only @ JakeQuickenden would be able to pull off a swollen head.”
