A MAN who got drunk and posted indecent pictures of a woman on a dating website in an act of ‘revenge’ has been jailed.

Jordan Travis, 25, put images of the woman on the Plenty of Fish site – taken when she was underage and in a relationship with someone – along with her contact details.

He told her: “If you want attention from men other than me, you can have it.”

The victim was bombarded with hundreds of unwanted texts from men who saw the pictures.

Minshull Street Crown Court heard Travis, from Bury, had earlier helped the woman get the same images removed from other websites after they were posted by someone else without her knowledge.

He retained access to them on WhatsApp and put them up online after drinking half a bottle of spirits and six cans of lager.

In a statement read to the court, the woman said she had suffered with depression, adding: “I can’t escape this.”

Travis claimed he was unaware of the victim’s age at the time the photographs were taken.

He pleaded guilty to disclosing private sexual films and photographs with the intent to cause upset and distress. Patrick Williamson, prosecuting, said Travis found the indecent images of the woman, taken when she was in a relationship and under 16, on pornographic websites. He added: “He located the images and would send them to her to confirm that they were images of her and she was concerned about. “She asked him to delete the images and he agreed, but he accepts that the images were still on his phone due to Whats App.” After Travis got drunk, he posted images of the woman on Plenty of Fish under a fake profile.

Travis later told her he set up the profile because she would not talk to him.

Representing himself, Travis said: “We argued a lot. I am sorry for what I did and I really wish I could go back and change what happened. I just don’t know what to say. I was so madly in love with her.

“I just lost control of my actions. I don’t have anybody to vouch for me but I have tried to do my best, keep my head down and work to change my life.”

Judge Tina Landale told him: “This was an act of revenge and you knew how much the images had distressed her.”

Travis was jailed for six months and banned from contacting the woman for three years under the terms of a restraining order.
