The perfect chance to mix your drinks

WEEK-LONG EVENT INVOLVES MORE THAN 20 OF CITY’S COOLEST BARS AND RESTAURANT­S

MORE than 20 of the city’s coolest bars and restaurant­s will be serving up some of the best drinks around as Manchester Loves Cocktails returns to the city next month.

The week-long festival takes place from September 4-10 for seven days of events, parties, dinners, music, tastings, masterclas­ses, competitio­ns and discounted cocktails.

There will be two festival hubs – at Crazy Pedros on Bridge Street and at their Northern Quarter site next to Afflecks, and Science and Industry at Cane and Grain – which will act as the wristband exchange and informatio­n point, as well as host a series of special events during the week.

Participat­ing bars include The Alchemist; Mojo; The Botanist; The Brotherhoo­d of Pursuits and Pastimes; The Cosy Club; Favelas Bar and Cantina; Hold Fast; Kosmonaut; The Living Room; Crazy Pedros; Science and Industry; Sugar Rays; Liquor Store, Rosylee, Hula, The Fitzgerald, Tusk, Liars Club and Blackdog Ballroom with more to be announced.

Each bar will team up with one of the world’s finest spirit brands to create a unique menu of £5 discounted cocktails and host events exclusivel­y for wristband holders.

Festival-goers can expect a diverse event programme that includes an opening party at Crazy Pedros, a Multisenso­ry Mystery Tour with Diplomatic­o at Kosmonaut, a Tanqueray Terrace Party at Rosylee and a tiki masterclas­s hosted by George Radev of the incoming London bar brand Mahiki.

The full event programme will be announced in the next few weeks.

There will also be a series of specialist events, tastings and masterclas­ses designed for bartenders and discerning drinkers.

To gain access to the events running throughout the festival and to buy cocktails at the discounted price of £5, attendees must purchase a Manchester Loves Cocktails wristband.

Early Bird wristbands are £10 with half-price concession­s available for drinks/ hospitalit­y industry workers, NHS employees and students.
