Keane and Henry clash on Ruud row

ROY Keane believes Arsenal’s ‘Invincibles’ should regret their behaviour during the goalless draw with United in 2003.

Arsenal players ganged up on Ruud van Nistelrooy after he missed a stoppage-time penalty, barging and shoving the Dutchman at full-time.

The visitors – and manager Arsene Wenger – felt Van Nistelrooy had cheated to get captain Patrick Vieira sent off and Keane reminisced about the tempestuous match with Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.

In a Premier League chat broadcast by Sky Sports, Keane and Henry presided over footage of the full-time scenes and Keane was appalled by the behaviour of defender Martin Keown.

Keane: “They should be [regretful], to me, I don’t mind lads getting stuck in but that behaviour is disgraceful. I know lads got in trouble, [Ray] Parlour...”

Henry: “Let’s go back to why that happened, let’s all remember, it’s not because Van Nistelrooy missed the penalty. The whole day – and I love Van Nistelrooy – but during the whole game he winded everyone up.” Keane: “No he didn’t.” Henry: “Do you remember? Keane: “I do remember, yes.” Henry: “He got Patrick sent off.” Keane: “Patrick got himself sent off.” Henry: “Remember the whole history. All I’m saying is, that’s why those guys felt that something was going wrong on the day. Not because he missed the penalty, that’s why they went at him, the way he behaved on the day.”
