Freak, King Nun & Dork, Manchester Sound Control Basement September 29 Freak, King Nun and Dork are joining forces for a five date co-headline tour this September. Fresh from playing Reading and Leeds festival, King Nun will finish the summer off in style with their very own tour. Kicking off in Nottingham, they’ll be calling off in Bristol, Birmingham and Manchester before finishing up in London. They are at Manchester Sound Control on September 29 and tickets are on sale now. Saint Etienne, Manchester O2 Ritz December 2 Enduring indie band Saint Etienne have released dates for a longawaite­d comeback tour this year, and after five years under the radar, the band are breaking cover in 2017 with a new album and their Home Counties tour. Formed in London in 1990 by longstandi­ng friends and music journalist­s Pete Wiggs and Bob Stanley, fronted by Sarah Cracknell, they burst onto the scene with their now classic cover version of Only Love Can Break Your Heart. The new tour is set to bring a mix of old classics and new material. Tickets are on sale today (Friday) at 9am. Marmozets, Manchester Academy 3 October 22 Rock band Marmozets have announced details of a new UK headline tour in October. The West Yorkshire five-piece released debut album ‘The Weird And Wonderful Marmozets’ in 2011 and are working on a follow-up record. Marmozets’ UK tour will kick off in Hull. The group will play 11 dates in total, ending at Portsmouth’s Wedgewood Rooms on October 30. Tickets go on sale today (Friday) at 9am. Peter Hook and The Light, Manchester Academy 3 December 15 Peter Hook and The Light have announced a homecoming Manchester show as part of a new tour of the UK and Ireland this year. The former Joy Division and New Order star will perform some of both bands’ greatest hits as he brings his Substance tour back to the city. The bassist and his band will perform New Order singles compilatio­n Substance in its entirety along with the Joy Division companion album of the same name at the Manchester Academy gig on Friday December 15. Tickets go on sale today (Friday) at 9am. Jason Byrne, The Lowry October 27 The Man With Three Brains is the brand new show from Jason Byrne. Following his 2016 tour, Propped Up, the famous funny man will be returning in October for 37 dates across the country. His 2016 UK tour saw giant ducks, rubber hands, owls, big wooden pegs and magic stunts, and this year he’s got even more tricks up his sleeve. He’ll be performing at The Lowry on October 27 and tickets are on sale now. Lee Nelson, Middleton Arena October 13 The ‘serious joker’, Lee Nelson is extending his 2017 tour and has recently announced a date at Middleton Arena. After committing to a summer set of tour dates, the comic has added some autumn dates as well, performing in Middleton on October 13. Over the last few years, the comedian’s cheeky stunts have hit the headlines, from faking his way onto a live audition for Britain’s Got Talent and throwing fake bank notes at former FIFA president Sepp Blatter. Tickets for his gig at Middleton Arena are on sale now. Nina Nesbitt, Manchester Sound Control - main room November 21 Nina Nesbitt first burst onto the scene with her viral YouTube cover of Example’s smash hit, Stay Awake, and now she’s got her very own gig to look forward to. Performing her own tracks, The Moments I’m Missing, and The Hardest Part, Nesbitt will take the main stage at Manchester Sound Control in November. Tickets for this one off gig go on sale today (Friday) at 10am.
