Warning to air passengers

-

AIRLINES are advising that passengers returning from Barcelona get to the airport THREE HOURS before their flight.

Some travellers are also being given the option to move their flights going in or out of Barcelona following the terror attack.

Currently, all airlines which travel between Manchester and Barcelona are operating flights as usual.

But Ryanair has warned people heading back to Manchester from the Spanish city that they should make their way to the airport well ahead of their flights.

A Ryanair spokesman said: “Our thoughts are with all of those affected.

“Our flights are operating as scheduled and customers travelling from Barcelona El Prat, Girona or Reus airports are advised to allow extra time for their journey due to additional security measures on access roads, and should arrive at least three hours before their scheduled departure time.”

Meanwhile, airline Vueling is offering passengers free changes for those both due to fly out of the city and travellers wishing to postpone their journey to Barcelona.

This applies to passengers who missed their flights due to a late arrival at Barcelona-El Prat airport.

It is also relevant to passengers who are due to travel today or tomorrow.

They can also change their tickets - subject to availability - without penalty to travel anytime until next Thursday. But route changes and refunds are not permitted.

Other airlines are yet to follow suit with a similar offer.

A Jet2.com spokesman said all their flights were operating as usual.
