Yet another helping of Black Milk

-

MANCHESTER’S Black Milk cereal cafe has revealed plans to open a third site - in Bolton.

The Northern Quarter favourite has won a cult following with its outrageous freakshakes and sugar-loaded cereal bowls since opening its first site inside Afflecks in 2015. A second, bigger site opened on Oldham Street earlier this year and now a third is taking shape inside Bolton’s Market Place.

Taking over a ground floor unit on the outside of the Grade II listed building, it will join a growing food and drink offering at the shopping centre, which has welcomed a number of new bars and restaurants to The Vaults development over the last year or so.

Co-founder Oliver Taylor said: “We’re really impressed by what’s happening in Bolton town centre. It’s always been a beautiful part of the north but the regeneration of the area is absolutely astounding.

“It’s been a really exciting project to work on, seeing our little Manchester cafe grow from a tiny business started in Afflecks.”

The new site will operate as the brand’s first franchise but Oliver and co-founder Andy Young have been involved every step of the way, from picking out the palmprint wallpaper to choosing the chairs and cutlery.

An area where customers can watch the shakes being made will also feature as part of the fit-out.

The franchise will be run by Fayaz Patel, a regular customer at Black Milk in Manchester.

The Black Milk team are also in talks to open sites in London and Dublin.
