CARDINAL Langley RC High School is celebrating an outstanding set of sixth form results.

A level students achieved a 100 per cent pass rate with 52 per cent of all results at A* to B grades.

In vocational subjects, meanwhile, 79 per cent gained a Distinction* which is the highest possible grade.

Headteacher Andrew Bridson said: “This is a fantastic achievement and reflects the hard work and dedication of students and staff. We are proud of all of our students and these outstanding results will enable more students than ever to be successful in their university and apprenticeship applications.

“The average grade this year was a B and reflects the high standard of teaching and learning at the school. Many of our students have exceeded their expectations which demonstrates the strength of the sixth form at Cardinal Langley.

“It has been an amazing year at the school with our outstanding judgement from the Diocese of Salford and Ofsted judging us good in all areas. These results show that the school can compete with the best and we expect numbers to increase further this year given the high success rate that students achieve. These results are particularly impressive considering the national changes to Sixth Form qualifications and our students have done themselves proud.

“The future is very positive at Cardinal Langley.”
