A very n-ice way to give yourself a boost
SOAP stars, footballers and boxers weren’t afraid to get a little frozen – as they headed over to the launch of a new full-body freezing chamber in Salford.
The Future Therapies clinic, based inside the Ainscow Hotel, has launched what they say is the UK’s first full-body cryotherapy chamber for one person – where you freeze your bits for three minutes to give yourself a health boost.
And boxers including Anthony Crolla and Jamie Moore were among the first to give it a try at the launch attended by a host of famous faces on Thursday night.
Those brave enough to enter the chamber, which reminded The Diary of when Austin Powers was cryogenically frozen, stripped down to just their undies for a three-minute blast of the frozen air.
Others at the VIP bash, including Premier League footballer Phil Bardsley, were simply happy to watch and sample just a blast of the frozen air rather than enter the chamber.
They included Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley in stunning form in a black bardot top teamed with palazzo pants, while Hollyoaks favourite Nikki Sanderson headed along with friends in a vest top and white jeans.
Nikki has just returned from an American road trip and was sporting a wonderful golden glow, so heading straight into the freezer chamber was filling her with a little trepidation!
The chamber uses liquid nitrogen-cooled air at temperatures as cold as -130C, and entering it is said to speed up injury recovery, help weight loss, reduce muscle tension and even claims to be anti-ageing
The claim that it can help you lose 800 calories in one threeminute session was also getting plenty of interest among guests!
Love Island star Scott Thomas was another brave enough to enter the cool chamber. He said: “You come out and you just feel... rejuvenated. I felt 22 again.”
A three-minute session costs £40. And apparently you can use it every day, if you’re not afraid of those goosebumps...
