It will be a long road to success

-

UNITED could get to Khartoum and back again for all the travelling they’ll be doing in the Champions League group stages.

Jose Mourinho’s side are set to rack up a total of 6,492 miles getting to and from each of their European games.

That’s enough for a one-way trip to Malaysia or as far as Khartoum, Sudan, and back again.

The total is made out of games against CSKA Moscow (a 3,160-mile round trip), Benfica (2,138 miles) and Basel (1,194 miles).

Chelsea will clock up more air miles than any other British club this season.

Antonio Conte’s side are set to travel 8,298 miles getting to and from their matches.

The majority of those come from their trip to Azerbaijani side Qarabag.

A round trip from Stamford Bridge to the Azersun Arena comes in at 4,956 miles.

Liverpool’s journeys come to 7,344 miles, Tottenham’s to 6,254 miles, Manchester City’s to 6,218 and Celtic’s to 3,802 miles.

The distances have been calculated as the crow flies going to and from each club’s home ground and that of their opponents.
