Alert over ‘skint woman’ con

ELDERLY people are being targeted by a woman claiming she has no money.

Police have warned people to be on their guard after she was seen knocking on pensioners’ doors around the Mills Hill area of Chadderton, Oldham. It is reported she has approached several pensioners and begged for cash.

Officers described the woman as white, in her late 20s and slim.

GMP Chadderton posted this warning on their Facebook page: “If you know any elderly people in the area please warn them what is happening and not to hand over any money to cold callers.”

Anyone with information about the identity of the woman is asked to call police on 101, quoting log numbers 947 and 1131 100917 – or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
