Salford into second place after routine win at home

SALFORD CITY kept up their good run of form after an impressive 3-0 victory at home to Nuneaton Town in the National League North.

First half goals from Lois Maynard, Anthony Dudley and Joshua Askew were enough to earn the hosts all three points.

Salford are second after the win, with only goal difference separating them from top of the table Harrogate Town.

STOCKPORT COUNTY continue to have mixed fortunes after they suffered a 3-2 defeat at Telford United.

It was 2-2 at half-time, with John Marsden and Anthony Dwyer scoring for Telford, while Matthew Warburton and Bohan Dixon netted for County.

Telford then got the victory when Jordan Murphy scored a second-half winner, condemning Jim Gannon’s men to defeat and leaving them 13th in the table.

FC UNITED OF MANCHESTER are in action tonight as they travel to Darlington, with FC United looking to improve their form and move up from second bottom.

CURZON ASHTON are in 16th place after their 1-1 home draw with Leamington on Monday. Ben Wharton had put Curzon ahead but Jack Edwards equalised to earn Leamington a point.

In the National League, MACCLESFIE­LD TOWN were victorious as they picked up a 2-1 win against AFC Fylde at the Moss Rose. Macclesfie­ld have now moved up to seventh place in the table after earning the win.
