Tim and Brix reunited for Apollo night

-

THE Charlatans have announced a special support act for their forthcoming Manchester Apollo show – former member of the Fall Brix Smith.

Brix Smith & the Extricated will warm up for Tim Burgess and Co at the Apollo on December 2 – thanks to a live collaboration at the recent Kendal Calling.

Smith’s band played the popular Tim Peaks Diner at Kendal, which led to The Charlatans’ frontman joining them for a version of The Fall’s Totally Wired – one of the highlights of the weekend.

That duet is likely to be part of the Manchester gig.

Burgess told the M.E.N: “After we got them to Kendal Calling we knew we wanted to do it all over again, so we’re made up Brix said yes.

“I can’t wait for the tour to start now – the Manchester show is going to be really special too I think.”

Smith said: “We all loved the Totally Wired moment at Kendal Calling so we might even get Tim to do it again. We’re really excited.”

A handful of tickets are still left for the Manchester Apollo gig.

The Charlatans released their 13th studio album, Different Days, earlier this year and took over Oldham Street in the Northern Quarter to promote it with secret gigs, exclusive fan giveaways and special pop ups.

Brix Smith & Extricated’s debut album ‘Part 2’ is released on September 22.
