LAURA Simpson has spoken out in a TV interview about her night out with Wayne Rooney.

Lettings agent Laura was with the former United footballer when he was arrested for drink-driving earlier this month near his home in Prestbury.

Yesterday she spoke out on This Morning with hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby about her time with the former Old Trafford captain.

Appearing on the daytime show, the 29-year-old said she had spoken with Coleen after her husband was arrested for drink-driving while in Laura’s car.

Laura denied that she did ‘laps’ of clubs to seek footballers and that she ‘had her eye’ on Everton star Wayne.

She said: “I have been out with footballers before, but it’s not something that I do.

“I didn’t have my eye on him. Not at all.

“We just fell into talking to each other and that’s the top and bottom of it.”

Laura denied that she targets footballers on nights out, replying: “I’m not just attracted to footballers. I’ve been out with footballers but not solely footballers.”

Asked about what happened before father-of-three Wayne, 31, was arrested she said: “It was a whirlwind. We just ended up at the car.”

And quizzed on where they were going, she replied: “Home.”

Pressed on why she had made the decision to be in a car with a married man, she replied to presenter Phillip Schofield: “If I got in the car with you it wouldn’t be all over the newspapers. “It’s been blown out of proportion.” Denying reports that she had kissed and cuddled Wayne on the night out, she added: “I feel that I’m being thrown under the bus. Anything I do say is adding fuel to the fire.”

Asked if she had any regrets about that night, she said: “Getting into the car is the only way it’s blown into one big media storm.

“I don’t think I deserve anything I’m getting.”

Laura says she had spoken to Wayne’s pregnant wife Coleen after his arrest. Asked how she feels about Wayne now, she said: “I don’t know him. I don’t feel anything about him.”

And in her last words she added: “I don’t think he deserves...it’s my opinion, I wouldn’t do that to my partner.”
