Young duo added to European squad

UNITED have added Kieran O’Hara and Demetri Mitchell to their Champions League squad.

Goalkeeper O’Hara, 21, is listed as United’s fourth-choice goalkeeper, having participated in pre-match preparations against Feyenoord, St Etienne and Rostov in the Europa League last season.

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international, who has played on loan at Morecambe and Stockport, was also named on the bench for the final Premier League game last term against Crystal Palace.

Mitchell, 20, made his United debut in the Palace win and was selected in the pre-season tour squad of the US, where he played against the LA Galaxy and Real Salt Lake, before featuring in the friendly win over Norwegian side Valerenga.

The reserves duo were added to the squad sheet earlier this week after United confirmed their 25-man squad last week and are among six players on the B list, along with Joel Pereira, Axel Tuanzebe, Scott McTominay and Marcus Rashford.

United confirmed McTominay’s promotion to the first-team squad after Andreas Pereira joined Valencia on loan, while Pereira and Tuanzebe joined the senior set-up midway through Jose Mourinho’s first season.

Reserves striker James Wilson, who recently returned from a serious knee injury, was also included in United’s Champions League squad.
