UNITED Pogba hints at an early Reds return after injury

THERE had been fears Paul Pogba was set for an extended period of time on the sidelines - but United’s talisman is back on his feet and busting out some of those famous dance moves.

The 24-year-old limped off after just 19 minutes of United’s 3-0 win against Basel last week after pulling up with a hamstring injury.

The France international left Old Trafford on crutches and it was initially thought he could miss up to six weeks with a muscular injury - which would rule him out of eight fixtures.

But Pogba appears to be in good spirits if his latest Instagram post is anything to go by.

With teammate Axel Tuanzebe filming, Pogba warns him to ‘watch it freeze!’ as he pulls off a series of eye-catching dance moves while wearing just a pair of black Adidas boxers.

Tuanzebe, who missed last night’s League Cup game against Burton through injury, can barely contain himself as he laughs along inside the changing room at the club’s training ground at Carrington.

The encouraging development comes after Jose Mourinho slammed a report claiming Pogba could miss up to three months of the season injury. “I don’t know if it is 12 weeks or 12 days, honestly,” he said. “So any comment, any new, any rumour, is totally wrong, because we do not know if it is 12 weeks or 12 days. “The player was diagnosed initially after the match, because of the conditions of the muscle and the bleeding, the decision was one more week to wait and to see really clearly in the scans the dimension of the injury and nobody in this club spoke about 12 days or 12 weeks, not at all. “It’s a muscular injury in the hamstring but we have a normal Paul Pogba with the procedure and wait a few more days. So it’s completely nonsense information.”

Michael Carrick, meanwhile, has mentored Pogba since the 24-yearold returned to United.

Carrick is one of a handful of players who were at the club during Pogba’s first spell before he joined Juventus for a compensation fee aged 19 in 2012.

Pogba played with Carrick just five times during his two-and-a-half years at United as a teenager but featured more frequently with the 36-year-old midfielder last season.

Carrick has not made an appearance in the Premier League or Europe yet this term due to the form of Pogba, Nemanja Matic and Marouane Fellaini, but the intense competition has not prevented him from advising Pogba during pre-match chats.

“I’ve learned from Paul Scholes and Michael,” Pogba said. “I’m still learning from Michael.

“He is an example for me and I always look at him in training.

“I listen to his advice - every time, before a game, he comes to talk to me and he will ask me things and keep me calm.

“To be honest, he is a mentor to me and someone I look up to.”
