MANCHESTER FOOD AND DRINK FESTIVAL OPENS:

MANCHESTER Food and Drink Festival has returned to Albert square, this year featuring its biggest and best beer selection.

The MFDF Indie Beer Fest features a line up of independent craft brewers from across Manchester and the North West, serving up some stellar brews for the food and drink festival’s 20th birthday.

Found at the Festival Hub under the Festival Bar marquee, the MFDF Indie Beer Fest Bar will be open from 12 noon to 11pm throughout the festival, with live music on our very own CityLife stage throughout the whole festival, providing the perfect soundtrack.

The carefully curated stage will showcase some of region’s finest up and coming talent, with free performances from bands and solo artists from a variety of genres. Expect sets from the likes of former X Factor contestant Christian Burrows, folk singersongwriter Thea Brooks, and Lucy Hope aka The Chanteuse - a singer from Stockport renowned for dreamy reinterpretations of the work of French artistes.

There’ll be plenty of seating suitable for catching rays or sheltering from the rain, dependent on our fine Manchester weather. And of course, loads of street food, masterclasses, gin, wine and cocktails.

Open now until Sunday, October 8, The Festival Hub and The MFDF Indie Beer Fest is free to enter. For the full list of foodie events visit foodanddrinkfestival.com.
