JOSE: POGBA IS NOT A MISS

- By SAMUEL LUCKHURST

JOSE Mourinho insists United are not missing Paul Pogba after they recorded another 4-0 win on Saturday.

United’s four-goal victory against Premier League basement club Crystal Palace marked the sixth time they have scored four in a match this season, which matches their feat for last season.

Pogba, 24, was absent for the 4-0 triumphs over Palace and Everton, as well as the 4-1 strolls against Burton Albion in the Carabao Cup and CSKA Moscow in the Champions League.

Marouane Fellaini has scored three times in Pogba’s absence and Mourinho believes the Belgian’s impact underlines the trust he has in United’s squad members.

“We never miss the players that are injured,” Mourinho said after it was suggested United are not missing Pogba.

“That’s our way of seeing [it]. They are injured, we don’t think about them. It’s an opportunity for others, is a moment for others to step up and to get the chance, so I think that’s good. When we moan all the time about injuries it looks like we don’t trust the other people and we have to.”

United are unbeaten in the Premier League, but Mourinho still stressed it is ‘too early’ to regard them as title challengers and had not even contemplated their first game after the international break – against Liverpool at Anfield.

“I didn’t even think about it,” Mourinho insisted. “I just ended this game, I’m not even thinking about Liverpool, I can promise you that.
