Vue geared up for final decider

- SPEEDWAY BY HAYLEY BROMLEY

WITH time becoming tighter than ever as the season approaches its end, Belle Vue are praying that second time’s a charm as they get set to host Wolverhampton in the second leg of the KOC final.

Their first attempt last week was washed out after the Rentruck Aces made significant headway in reducing the 10-point aggregate deficit, recovering four points after Heat 6.

But an unscripted downpour saw the meeting abandoned just short of being able to declare a result, meaning the scores reset to 40-50 for the re-staging tonight.

With Max Fricke back on the injury sidelines and Craig Cook on a 7-Day Prior of Inactivity, the Rentruck Aces bring in Chris Harris to cover for Fricke at No. 5 with R/R/ in place for Cook at No. 3.

Wolverhampton have also had to call in an army of guests to cover their injury victims with Scott Nicholls, Richard Lawson and Richie Worrall in action.

Belle Vue No. 2 Steve Worrall said: “We’re keeping everything crossed for a dry night. It’s all to play for for both sides and me and the boys are desperate to put on a great show for the fans.

“We’ve got a bit of work to do before we can say we’ve earned that trophy, but we’re quite prepared to put in the effort and do what we’ve got to do to give ourselves a fighting chance.”

It’s a busy week across the board for Belle Vue with meetings today, Wednesday and Friday.
